Hytech Logistics MD Celebrates 40 years in Life Science Industry.

27th November, 2023

Stuart Burke, MD Hytech Logistics, will celebrate 40 years in the Life Science industry in 2024 having risen to be at the helm of one of Ireland’s leading independent 3rd Party Logistics Providers.

Stuart, literally started on the factory floor as a highly skilled scientific glass blower with AGB Scientific, the largest Irish-owned independent supplier of laboratory instruments, in 1984. He quickly moved to the distribution and logistics side of the business and was responsible for a large portion of the rollout for the largest life science expo in Ireland, Lab fair at NIHE Dublin (DCU).  This enabled Stuart to manage a complex supply chain which temporarily imported products from over 60 manufacturers and suppliers of Scientific Equipment and consumables for the Expo, returning all product after the show. The show went on every two years into the 90’s.

“This gave me, at a very early stage in my career, a full understanding of logistics from source to end user and reverse to suppliers.”  Says Stuart.

He continued as Chief Operations Manager for AGB until 1999 when he left to establish Hytech Logistics.  This new company focused on both technology and Life Science clients.

Stuart has marked this 40-year milestone with the launching of LifeSci Logistics, a specialist Life Sciences Logistics service within the Hytech Group. LifeSci Logistics will focus solely on the Life Science Markets globally. This dynamic new specialist service is being rolled out at the beginning of 2024 with a dynamic new brand and livery which will see LifeSci Logistics expertly transporting life science equipment throughout Ireland from across the world.

Stuart comments:

“My journey over the past 40 years has been an extraordinarily exciting and rewarding one. Ireland’s unique landscape in both the technology and life sciences industries has created a demand for very high quality logistics services that I have had the pleasure to provide for over the past 4 decades.”
